  • The Engine Room Birmingham United Kingdom (map)

On March 4th the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire debuts its 2020 Spring Opera production, The Enchanted Island. Gabriella will be playing the role of Ferdinand in RBC’s upcoming production of Jeremy Sams’ Baroque pastiche

Conductor Paul Wingfield | Director Jamie Hayes
Musicians from the Vocal and Operatic Department, Royal Birmingham Conservatoire

A pasticcio opera devised by Jeremy Sams, The Enchanted Island is a colourful musical patchwork of arias and ensembles by Handel, Vivaldi, Rameau and many more. For the first time vocal students from RBC will be performing in The Engine Room, an old button factory in the Jewellery Quarter.

Come and hear well-known choruses like Zadok the Priest set against other baroque rarities in this stunning new venue as characters from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream meet their match in familiar figures from The Tempest. A baroque romp!

The performance will take place over 4 days.
